Our Emergency Shelter building houses 9 families at a time and operates at full capacity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our old house experiences a lot of wear and tear each year and we're excited to share that major renovations are almost complete!

Transition House is an innovative nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization working to end domestic violence in our community since 1975. We offer a full circle of housing and holistic support for adults and children overcoming the trauma of family and partner violence. We are also the go-to resource for safety planning, community education, and youth leadership on healthy relationship development—critical violence prevention initiatives in our community depends on. Transition House is the ONLY resource of its kind in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
